Vertigo & Dizziness Treatment in Salisbury, MD

Vestibular rehab and repositioning maneuvers like the Epley to stop the spinning and restore balance.

We specialize in diagnosing and treating vertigo and dizziness, which are commonly caused by a problem in the vestibular (inner ear) system. A comprehensive evaluation, including your history, a detailed interview, and objective testing, helps us identify the underlying cause.

Treatment may include canalith repositioning procedures (CRPs) such as the Epley maneuver, which moves displaced inner-ear crystals back where they belong. We also offer vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) to retrain the balance system, targeted balance training, gaze stabilization exercises, and education on managing symptoms in daily life.

Our goal is to relieve your vertigo and dizziness, improve balance and stability, and help you get back to life with confidence. Dr. Dickson holds the AIB-VR certification in vestibular rehabilitation.

We help patients with

  • Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
  • Dizziness when rolling over, looking up, or bending down
  • Unsteadiness and balance problems
  • Dizziness after a concussion
  • Vestibular weakness after an inner-ear infection

FAQ

Vertigo Correction FAQs

How quickly can vertigo be treated?

Positional vertigo (BPPV) often improves significantly within one to a few visits using repositioning maneuvers. Other types of dizziness may need a longer course of vestibular rehabilitation.

What should I wear to my vertigo appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing. Because some testing and treatment can briefly bring on symptoms, you may want someone to drive you home after your first visit.
